The village of San Leonardo in Badia
Between Ladin authenticity, genuineness and breathtaking views
Hotel Cavallino welcomes you to San Leonardo in Badia, a hamlet of Badia/Pedraces — a typical high-mountain village (1,324 m a.s.l.) nestled on the slopes of the Sasso Santa Croce massif, the ideal starting point for hikes and outdoor activities in Val Badia.
Right next to our hotel you can admire the parish church in Baroque-Rococo style, the Gothic sanctuary of Santa Croce at 2,045 m, and the archaeological excavations of Sotciastel with Bronze Age finds that bear witness to the first settlements in the area.
Alta Badia: timeless nature and beauty
The idyllic village of San Leonardo lies in splendid Alta Badia, the southern part of Val Badia/Gadertal, stretching across a wide, sunny basin set within the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Formed by meadows, forests and unspoilt valleys, this wonderful alpine area is dominated by the Dolomite massifs of Sella and Cir, Sassongher and Gardenaccia, Sasso Santa Croce and the Conturines group, and is bordered by the Puez-Geisler and Fanes-Sennes-Prags nature parks.
